V9. NINE editions! It’s something I never thought we would ever get to! It’s special, so we wanted the experience to feel special too.
This coin is about adventure that's hidden in plain sight. The clockwise turn of the outer diameter opens a series of claws to release a double sided PPL share coin. A coin within a coin! Go too far and the jaws snap shut so you have to start again...a poetic metaphor everyone can relate too.
Designing and engineering a mechanical coin like this is not for the faint of heart- every coin is painstakingly hand made, fit and finished so each tiny mechanism works in sync. It’s open of those things where the idea sounds fun and exciting and everyone is on board and months later we begin to question why we didnt just make a regular coin instead- BUT- we’ve never been about just doing ‘;regular’. The dream is always to make things we would want, we are proud of and we are proud for people to own and enjoy.
The packaging for such a special coin also needed to echo the same mystery and care. That’s why every coin comes with a custom made wooden PPL puzzle box to perfectly store the V9 inside. Is it going to take you 3 years to solve? Heck no. Give me the coin. Now! It’s JUST enough to have fun with and keep in the collection and as always- makes a GREAT photo prop. These things matter.
